Building is beautiful, spotless, customer service was good. They dont give out multiple keys for each room which made me feel safer actually. The only HUGE let down was the spas hygeine practices or lack of. The therapist was very good, again, the building is stunning especially the spa part but considering how much you're paying and realising they don't change the towels between each client on the massage beds, no wonder they are a dark colour. So you're literally laying on and under towels that have been used on every single other clients oiled and naked body that day. Not to mention the towels are extremely thin too. I work in this industry and I know that too many high end spas don't change their towels between clients, if at all for days, all just to keep costs down and this place is exactly the same. Disgusting when you're paying nearly £100 or more for a massage. Do better please.

I have been staying here for a few days and was dissatisfied and disappointed. The king room had two single beds pushed together and the void in the middle made my sleep uncomfortable. I told the receptionist on my second day but it was not put right . The room was dusty and missed attention to detail, with building rubble under the bathroom sink . I raised the issues with the manager and was responded to it with an apology and a stare. If she had resolved this complaint at the time to my satisfaction, I would not be left with this memory of poor customer service and bad experience from Hope street Hotel and I would not be leaving a negative review. On a positive note - the restaurant food was very good.
What a wonderful hotel.

We stayed here to go to a concert over the road (literally) in the Philharmonic.

Everything was perfect. The beds were comfy, great quality linens, lovely towels, lots of nice bathroom toiletries. Everything is thought about, and you can tell. The light switches are positioned just right by the bed, dimmable lights in the bathroom, just right for a relaxing bath, the blackout blinds with blackout curtains as well, waters in the room in glass bottles not plastic, Lots of choice on the hospitality tray - the room was lovely. Oh and it has soundproofing, so no noise from next doors TV or whatever.

The breakfast was top quality. The chefs are in the breakfast room and plate up whatever you want to eat.

All the staff were obviously well trained. They were efficient and friendly, with nice clean uniforms (I've stayed in hotels where the staff look like they need to use a washing machine...)

I can't fault the hotel to be honest. I will stay there again without a doubt, it's super.

A Mixed Bag of Luxury and Letdowns

Location: 4/5
Hope Street Hotel boasts an excellent central location, which is a significant plus point. It's conveniently situated for exploring the city, offering easy access to local attractions and amenities.

Room: 3/5
We stayed in the rooftop, priced at a premium £725. While the room was spacious with nice views, it fell short in some areas:
- No mini-bar, an unexpected omission for a luxury room
- Bathroom mirror light was non-functional, impacting the overall functionality and ambiance

These issues, especially the bathroom light, detract from the luxury experience one expects at this price point.

Service: 3.5/5
The service experience was mixed:
- Reception staff came across as somewhat rude, setting a poor initial impression
- Breakfast service was disappointing, with staff seeming indifferent
- Room service was a bright spot, with both the food quality and customer service being commendable

The contrast in service quality across different areas of the hotel was notable and somewhat perplexing.

Dining: 3/5
- Breakfast, priced at £15.5 per head, felt overpriced for the quality and service provided
- Room service from the 19 restaurant was excellent, offering good food and attentive service

The disparity between the breakfast experience and room service was significant.

Noise: 1/5
A major issue was the unexpected noise from a wedding party, with music blasting until 1 AM. For a hotel in this price range, better sound insulation or at least prior warning about such events should be standard.

Value for Money: 2/5
At £725 for the rooftop and £35 per person for food at restaurants, Hope Street Hotel struggles to justify its high rates:
- Some luxury amenities were missing or non-functional (e.g., mini-bar, bathroom light)
- Inconsistent service quality
- Unexpected noise issues
- However, the excellent location and quality room service partially offset these negatives

Overall: 3/5
Hope Street Hotel offers a mix of highs and lows. Its prime location and excellent room service are commendable. However, these positives are overshadowed by inconsistent service, some functional issues in the room, and unexpected noise disturbances. For the premium rates charged, guests should expect a more polished and consistent experience. The hotel needs to address these issues to truly align with its luxury positioning and price point.

Stayed here recently and was quite disappointed, it’s no better than a travel lodge. We really wanted to love this hotel especially as we were looking forward to the spa. Sadly half the jets weren’t working in the outdoor hot tub, some of the amenities were out of order and it was just pretty small with not a lot going on. The rooms were fine, but that’s all, squeaky beds, lots of noise from the street, and worst of all, absolutely freezing, I woke up in the early hours and couldn’t feel my fingers. Even having had the heating on as high as possible, it was hardly putting anything out, paired with the draft from the balcony door we had no chance. The only saving grace for this place was their breakfast, wonderful chef and a lovely array of high quality options.

The room was spacious and modern. The hotel is located in a great street in the Georgian quarter, very quiet and pretty neighbourhood with modern restaurants and the most beautiful pub around the corner. It's close to the city center, 10 to 15 minutes, and both cathedrals are just blocks away. Both restaurants are great, breakfast was amazing, good quality and wide variety of foods. Highly recommended.

I wanted to specifically name Sue who really made our day with her incredible attentive service at breakfast. She lit up our day and made us feel very welcome. All other front of house staff have also been incredibly helpful and friendly during our short stay. Nice hotel. Room was a little tired but the spa bath and products made up for it. Would stay here again in the future. Thank you for the pleasant stay

Great location and staff, we stayed for one night with our 3 girls and looked a themed room, when we booked we asked for a ‘girly’ room for make it special for the kids, we where told that they would try but they couldn’t promise anything. What we got was the ‘vault’ room which was gold which generally was nice but not what we wanted for our girls. We where put in a room where across the hall was a party which was quite noisy but not too bad but on top of that there where male guests knocking on doors all night which was making the party room louder as they where screaming which meant we got no sleep. We told the receptionist on check out and they said they were aware as they checked the CCTV the next morning but nothing was done at the time of the incident. We paid £130 for 1 night and id say if we where given a nicer room it would have been reasonable given the location but I don’t think that we will be staying here again

Amazing stay! Me and my husband stayed a few weeks ago, the room was clean and well maintained. We had dinner in the restaurant, the food and drink was amazing, and the service from Hannah was as well. We will definitely be returning on our next trip to Liverpool.

We recently stayed at this hotel for one night with my husband and our three kids in the YOLO room. The room itself is beautiful, with a unique design that we really appreciated. However, there are a few small maintenance issues that could use attention. The wallpaper is peeling in places, the grout around the tiles could be redone, and the circular taps in the room with the bathtubs need some TLC. Additionally, the door didn’t shut properly, which detracted from the experience of solving the riddle to reveal the surprise. Another minor issue was that the baths only had very hot water, with no option for cold, which made it challenging to use.

These are all small issues that can be easily fixed to make the room perfect because it truly has a lot of potential. A heads-up—make sure to bring a photo ID, as it’s required at check-in without exception.

On a positive note, the breakfast was lovely, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, especially with our kids. The hotel’s location is also excellent. We had a great time overall and definitely plan on returning. Thanks for a memorable stay!

Lovely place. Our room was beautiful. Our second time for a girls night here. On both occasions there is a horrible smell from the drains but you soon get used to it. Rooms clean and very comfortable beds.
No phone in room to call reception though. We stayed in the flamingo themed room.
